After much soul-searching I have decided to essentially stop collecting OA flaps except for Ashie 436 and Tiwahe 45 items, as well as the occassional Pang 532 item should it appear.
When a hobby ceases to be fun, it is time to stop. Collecting OA flaps from all lodges stopped being fun quite some time ago. The excessive number of special issues and their contrived rarity, plus the deluge of fakes have caused me to make this painful decision. There is also the issue of storage. I do not have the space to store my collection, and they are impossible to display. I have enough stuff in boxes.
My Ashie and Tiwahe needs will eventually be listed below. If you have something from either of these lodges, be it a flap, event patch, neckerchief, or something completely strange, by all means contact me. I am always interested in stuff from Pang 532 (who isn't?).
I will continue to maintain my OA flap dupes list until they too are exhausted.
I have met numerous OA collectors over the years and with a few notable exceptions I have found them to be an honest and jovial bunch of people. To these people I say that just because I have decided to stop collecting OA flaps does not mean that I am not interested in keeping in contact with you. By all means drop me a line.
Unless otherwise noted, I deal ONLY in clean, unused, unglued, unsewn, unstapled, and unwashed patches that have no threadbreaks or writing on the back (commonly called "mint"). I am interested in only patches that are in the same condition.
I am only interested in regular issue flaps. By regular issue I mean a flap that is
not an anniversary, conclave, fundraiser, NOAC, ghost, host, ect. flap.I never use tape to secure the patches I send. Please extend to me the same courtesy. If you use tape, and the patch is damaged when I attempt to remove the tape, I will return the patch to you.
I remove any labels or tape (except labels or tape that were placed on the patch by the manufacturer) that has been placed on the patches after I acquire them. Please remove anything that is on the back of the patch that did not originate with the manufacturer before you send the patch. If the patch is damaged while I am attempting to remove these labels, I will return the patch to you.
I do not want any fakes. This includes any patch that comes from either Chang or anyone who deals in his fakes. This includes the eBay seller based in Canada who seems to find a way to get all sorts of hard to find patches. Sending me a fake is unacceptable. Please be certain you do not have a fake.
